Procedure To Set Up Archives In Microsoft Outlook

Microsoft Outlook email client software allows the users to move old or project oriented files to another file. The feature will allow you to keep the most relevant files, calendar, tasks and contacts in your folder. You can do archiving of these file contents periodically or on specific dates and times.   • Open Outlook 2007. Double click the desktop shortcut label to launch the application. Alternatively, you can launch the same from the Start menu pop up. From the All Programs submenu, select the label that reads Microsoft Outlook.

Clicking the plus sign will get the folder dropdown collapsed.
  • Select the File option and then the archive option. This will make the archive dialogue box appear. From the dialogue box, select the Archive this folder and all subfolders option. Enter the date into the Archive items in the folder older than option dialogue box. Select a date to remove older emails from view.
  • Launch the file explorer and browse through the computer files to locate a place to put this archived folder. Name the archive folder. Enter the name of the archive folder in the Archive file section. Try to name the files with something that reminds you about the file content. Hit the OK button.
  • Watch the archive process by looking at the lower right-hand corner of your Outlook window. A dialogue box showing the archive process status will appear. Your system will now notify about the completion with a message prompt.

Steps To Transfer Address Book To Another Computer Using Flash Drive

Now click on the File tab and then select the option labeled Export. From the Export window, select the label that reads Address Book. Now select the type of the file you want. Make sure that you select something that will fit best.
Save the export, to your flash drive. Rename the exported file. Hit Next to proceed. Select the contents that you want to move from the address book to the flash drive. Once you are done with moving, hit the Finish option.
Insert your flash drive to the computer you want to transfer. Now, click on the File option. From the File dropdown, select the label that reads Import and then the Other Address Book label.
Now, select the file type. Hit the Import option. Select the location to which you intend to save the file. For this, click on the Browse button. Hit Next and select the data you intend to import. Once you have finished transferring them, hit the Finish button.

·       Launch the Start menu. Click the Windows Start orb to launch the Start menu. From the Start menu pop up, select the label that reads My Computer or Computer. Alternatively, you can launch the My Computer or the Computer window using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+ E. Right click the label that reads, Properties. See the amount of free space on your system. If you find there is not enough space on your system, launch the disk cleanup process. The disk cleanup process will remove temporary files, files from the Recycle Bin, offline Web pages, debug dump files, thumbnails and system error files. You will find the Clean up feature in the Programs and Features menu. Click the label to initiate the clean up.
·       Click the Windows orb to launch the Start menu. Alternatively, you can launch the start orb by clicking the Windows shortcut key. Type cmd into the search window and press the Enter key. This will launch the folder containing the cmd file. Right click the file labeled cmd.exe. From the dropdown, select the label Open. From the prompt window, select the option Run as administrator. Enter sfc/scannow as the keyword in the command prompt within the command window. Hit either the Enter option or the Enter key to initiate the System File Checker utility.
